Heatless desiccant dryers RED are designed for continuous separation of water vapor from compressed air, thereby reducing the pressure dew point. The RED series consists of two columns filled with desiccant beds, a controller with KCD screen, valves, manometers, bottom support, and a filter with appropriate filter element. Adsorption occurs under pressure in the first column while the second column regenerates with a portion of the already dried air at room temperature. When the first column is saturated to a certain level, a changeover between columns occurs and the adsorption process continues in the second column without any pressure drop at the dryer outlet. Regeneration of the saturated dried air is possible because a small portion of dried air remains uncompressed and when it expands it becomes very dry. The portion of uncompressed, very dry air is called purge air and it enters through the saturated column in the opposite direction to flow to reduce the adsorbed water molecules from the dried air and finally releases them back to the environment.
